You can paint trees in any color you like, I'll teach you how to focus on values, brushwork and shapes instead of color to make these NW trees come to life.
We will also work a little on mountains using an easy wet on wet application.
We will warm up doing fir trees in several formats because everyone paints a little differently. In class we will do El Capitan to start the lesson section and move on to one to two other paintings depending on time.
I suggest you read over the lessons in my Deconstructed Watercolor instruction booklet that I send out prior to class. I will lead you through the basics of wet into wet, wet on dry, damp on damp, dry brush, brushwork, etc. while we warm up. I'll show you how to use value and color temperature for distant trees. You will use the pyramid technique to paint convincing mountains. Hopefully we will get to Mt. Hood.
Between classes, I have occasional email, video and Zoom check ins to help keep motivation high.
Please do not buy any supplies until we have a discussion. Watercolor takes good materials to get the results you want. I can help you find those supplies at a reasonable cost or you can purchase a basic kit from me.
